Tattoos

Now I know in today's society everyone has tattoos. I have two. My parents and people I know form their generation seem to hate them. I guess tattoos started as something for bad ass' and criminals, but go back centuries ago and look at the tribes. Tattoos are body art. As simple as that. I have two myself. A twisted feather and the ohm symbol. My latest idea is to get a sleeve done (half sleeve). I want it to include a babushka doll, a tea cup and floral prints. Anyone that has pictures of similar things or enjoys drawing please contact me.

Books v.s. Technology

I had my 5 and 8 year old cousins over the other day and to my surprise, they were telling me they were saving their money for an ipad, YES an ipad.
When I was that age I was saving for things from book club. There were no things such as ipads, having a coloured "gameboy" was the top thing!
Maybe I'm a bit more old fashioned, I don't hate technology, I have a smart phone (not an iphone) and a laptop (not a macbook) and yeah the internet is great for everything.
But my point is that technology can't take over books. I still will buy all my textbooks for uni. I still print all the notes and articles I need. I cant read of a screen constantly, I need notes in front of me that I can highlight and make more notes too. I just see the future in having everything replaced by technology when sometimes something so simple could help and be better, technology will not always be reliable.
We need more books like that of Harry Potter which keeps people reading (until they make movies out of it and people watch those instead).
But there is still some hope in the world, I saw a young girl on my tram the other day in oshkoshbgosh overalls and had a Beatrix Potter book.

First Blog

First blog, not sure what to say so I'll just introduce myself.

I am Lysh. Female from Melbourne, Australia. I enjoy drinking tea and cider, knitting, baking, reading, walking, getting haircuts, photography, tattoos, vintage things, quotes.

I think I was born in the wrong era according to my taste in clothes, music and hairstyles.

I am currently studying a bachelor of Nursing.

I have so many places I wish to travel too and hope to get to all of them before I die. I have already travelled to Ireland, London, Japan and Bali.

In this blog I just hope to express what I like and get to know some like-minded people. Even if I only get one follower I'll be happy :)
